I was chilling on my couch last night, eating the best Snickers I’ve ever had in my laugh, pondering how some people talk up a storm while others just quietly crush it. Sometimes you should never trust the loudest in the room. Trust the one who you see is walking it. That push and pull between walking the walk and talking the talk has been buzzing in my head, so may these quotes speak to you how they speak to me.
Grit Over Gab
I’ve always vibed with folks who let their hustle scream louder than their voice. Words can tease, but the action is where the real heat kicks in. I don’t want to hear what you can do, I want to see what you are doing. Maybe you have been a talker, don’t be ashamed. Now, start walking as you should have been doing in the first place.
- Well done beats well said. (Benjamin Franklin)

- Lip service costs nothing. Hustle’s priceless.
- Walk it or sit.
Swagger Meets Substance
I get a kick out of people who can talk big and still deliver—it’s like a one-two punch to the soul. When the swagger’s got backbone, it’s electric. Primetime Deion Sanders was a brash dude coming out of college but he backed his talk on the field and become one of the best if not the best cornerback to ever play in the NFL.
- A small kind act tops any loud promise. (Oscar Wilde)
- Don’t just talk the climb. Show me the scars.
- Talk maps it. Action cuts the trail.
- Life scores your steps not your speeches every single time.
- Thunder is s nice. Lightning moves me.
- Fate’s carved by what you do not what you dream about late at night. (Heraclitus)

- Love is dead unless you fight for it with everything you’ve got.
- Bark needs bite or it’s nothing.
Talk is cheap
I’ve been burned by empty words too many times, so now I lean on the ones who show up solid. Have you ever had someone who you were relying on who proved themselves to be unreliable? A promise that they just couldn’t keep. No one likes someone like that. You should be careful to not be someone like that for others. It truly is embarrassing.
- Actions scream. Words whisper. Silence wins.
- Tongue moves fast but hands hit true.
- You’re what you do not what you say you’ll be someday. (Carl Gustav Jung)
- Don’t pitch dreams. Build them.

- One step trumps a thousand rants.
- Live what your mouth can’t say even on its best day.
- Talk is a a spark and action is the inferno.
- Some preach it and some live it.
Heavy Moves
You never want to look back and tell yourself that you never truly meant the words that you said. One of the ways that you know you meant your words was by moving. Talking too much can be seen is laziness if you are not backing it up with work.
- Deeds turn the world. Words spin air.
- Can’t fake a punch or a lift.
- Action writes your name in stone not sand. (John Mason)
- Words float. Deeds root.

- Don’t swear it. Haul it.
- Effort fuels what words can’t touch.
- One play kills a pile of talk.
- Build it and the chatter fades.
Fire in the Fight
Nothing gets me like when someone’s words and moves sync up. My goal for this year is to make more friends with people are actually about the things that they see. I want to not only see them building but feel the seriousness and the passion about them. That type of person around you is inspiring to your own soul. You should strive for this as well.
- It is true that moves shout, but it’s also true that life sings.
- Real ones act first then talk the truth. (Confucius)
